EMAIL Spam and Virus Filter Service
IWVISP now offers Email Spam and Virus filtering through GFI Maxmail. The new filtering service can be accessed at https://maxmail.gfi.com. To log in use your email address as the username and your email password. From there you will be able to make adjustments to your account’s blacklist/whitelist, see messages in the quarantine and forward any quarantined message to your mailbox.
To get a complete user guide for the new Filter system please click here.
Here is a few hints that can help you to handle messages that get quarantined.
First choice is that you can set GFI to send a daliy digest listing of all the quarantined mail for that day. To do this option log into your GFI account go to Preferences at the top of the page, then click on "Digests & Notification" tab. Now click on the Days that you want to digest sent then click "Save Changes".
Second choice is that you can set GFI to add the word "SPAM" to the subject line and then set your email program to move all emails, with "SPAM" in the subject line, to a JUNK folder. Most newer email programs, like Windows Live Mail will automatically move the SPAM to a JUNK folder. To set up this option log into your GFI account, go to Preferences at the top of the page, then click the "Spam Handling" tab. How click "Handling Options" on the side menu. How click "Delivered to me" under Delivery of Detected Spam Messages. Then click "Add **SPAM** to the subject line of every detected spam" under Optional Selections then click "Save Changes".
